Official Transcripts

The official transcript includes the complete undergraduate and graduate academic record of courses taken at all campus locations or divisions of the University of Colorado. It contains the signature of the Registrar and the official seal of the university.

Official transcripts with posted grades for any given semester are available approximately one week after final exams. A transcript on which a degree is to be recorded is available approximately six weeks after final exams.

For Denver Campus students, transcripts may be ordered through the online ordering portal by visiting Transcripts.

Colorado law allows domestic students with a past due balance to send their transcript to a school or employer only. Students can contact the Office of the Registrar for further instructions. International students that have a past due balance to the university will not be granted a transcript.

Transcripts are prepared when a student submits an order online. The official PDF transcript is delivered within 24 hours, and mailed transcripts are processed within one business day. Rush service is available and processed within one business day.

Missing Final Official Transcripts from External Institutions

For admission to CU Denver, final official transcripts are required from all high schools and higher education institutions previously attended by the student.   These transcripts must be submitted at the beginning of the first semester of enrollment at CU Denver. 

If additional course credit is completed outside of CU Denver during the student’s enrollment at CU Denver, final official transcripts are required to be submitted as soon as the course is completed.

A registration hold will be placed on the student record in the case that documents are missing. Information about missing documents can be seen in the student portal, UCDAccess.   Missing documents must be submitted in order to remove the hold.

If the student has outstanding transcripts at the time of graduation, degree completion will not be posted until all transcripts have been submitted.

Transcripts from External Sources

Once transcripts from any external source are submitted to CU Denver, the document will be retained for record-keeping purposes and cannot be returned.  We cannot provide the student or any interested third party copies of the submitted materials.  Please be sure to order separate materials for the student’s personal use from the original high school or higher education institution if needed.
