This course will lead the strident in a detailed study of legal and ethical issues facing contemporary leaders in the health care industry. Students will gain a working knowledge of how to apply federal and state health laws and regulations as applied to real-world problems. Components studied include key legal process and resources, ethical challenges for health providers, medical staff issues and peer review, quality and malpractice concerns, legal and ethical issues related to access to healthcare, end of life care, reproductive health, and legal and ethical issues faced by contemporary health insurers. XDHA 8910 - Doctoral Project Proposal (9 Credits)
This term will entail preparation of a full proposal for the dissertation, encompassing an introduction, problem statement, literature review, proposed methodology, the content of which will substantively equate to the first three chapters of the final project. Work in this course will also entail securing approval or waiver from Institutional Review Board and any related permissions for data use.
