MSCP 6020 - Clinical Medicine (3 Credits)
This course will examine the clinical manifestations of illness and injury, differential diagnosis, laboratory and imagining evaluation of medical conditions in adults and special populations that students will need to engage in practice as a prescribing psychologist. MSCP 6025 - Applied Clinical Science (1 Credit)
This course will provide hands-on training in physical examination, interpretation of laboratory and imaging tests, and therapeutic drug monitoring with a focus on the skills and knowledge required to practice as a prescribing psychologist. An in-depth exploration of the values and ethical ideas that guide professional practice in psychopharmacology practice and research, including philosophical ethical principles and professional codes of conduct. MSCP 8005 - Psychopharmacology Fellowship 1 (3 Credits)
Initial psychopharmacology clinical experience under supervision of licensed physicians. Students participate in a minimum of 80 hours of direct clinical observation in physical and mental health assessment, physical health diagnosis, and pharmacological intervention in a variety of health care settings. To be accompanied by training in documentation of physical and psychopharmacological clinical encounters. Note: All fellowship placements must be approved by the Program Director in advance of registration. Term offered: Fall, Spring, Summer. Max hours: 3 Credits.
