Student Learning Outcomes
- Apply the midwifery management process to independently manage the care of women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period.
- Apply the midwifery management process to independently manage the primary health screening and health promotion of women from the peri-menarcheal period through the lifespan.
- Apply the midwifery management process to independently manage the care of the well newborn immediately after birth and during the first 28 days of life.
- Evaluate, utilize, and disseminate research to improve the health and well-being of women in Colorado and the world.
- Contribute to interprofessional health care teams as a member and a leader.
- Engage in the professional responsibilities of midwives to include the development of a supportive, professional community that promotes mental, physical, and spiritual well-being among midwives.
- Integrate ethical principles in their care of women, their families, and their communities.
- Demonstrate transformational leadership in the areas of clinical midwifery, research, community service, and health policy development.
