Survey of human genetics, including Mendelian and other types of inheritance, chromosomes and cytogenetics, molecular and biochemical basis of genetic disease, quantitative genetics and gene mapping, developmental and cancer genetics, clinical genetics, and genetic screening and prenatal diagnosis.

This is an advanced short (1-credit) course designed to: 1. Discuss common misunderstandings & typical errors in the practice of statistical data analysis. 2. Provide a mental toolkit for critically thinking about statistical methods and results. Classes will involve lectures, discussions, hands-on exercises, and homework about concepts critical to the day-to-day use and consumption of quantitative/computational techniques for working with data. Prereq: 1. Introductory knowledge of statistics and probability, and 2. Introductory experience with data wrangling, analysis, and visualization using R or Python. Pre-written R & Python code will be provided and learners will be expected to understand, modify, and run the code. These are strict requirements for students taking the course for credit and a strong recommendation for those unofficially auditing it.
