Reading Teacher K-12 Endorsement
Discontinued, Spring 2023
Introduction
Recommendations for endorsements are made by the Responsive Literacy Education Program, but endorsement is granted by the State of Colorado. Individual state requirements vary and may include teaching experience and examinations in addition to a valid teaching credential. Students should consult with the Colorado Department of Education (https://www.cde.state.co.us/) or another state in which they wish to be licensed for the most updated endorsement requirements. Please note that the Colorado Department of Education also requires 3 or more years of licensed teaching experience to apply for the Reading Specialist K-12 Endorsement after completion.
All courses may be applied directly toward a full master's degree in Literacy. Additional courses and applications are required for the master’s degree. For additional information about the master's degree, please contact academicservices@ucdenver.edu.
