MATH 5310 - Probability


Examines elementary theory of probability, including independence, conditional probability, and Bayes’ theorem; random variables, expectations and probability distributions; joint and conditional distributions; functions of random variables; limit theorems, including the central limit theorem. Prereq: Graduate standing in Applied Mathematics or Statistics. AMEN-MS/PHD/STAT-MS. Note: This course assumes that students have the equivalent of differential and integral calculus (e.g., MATH 2411). Cross-listed with MATH 4810. Max hours: 3 Credits. Semester Hours: 3 to 3
